     Blaze was bought by us at an auction. For once we finally bought a horse that wasn't really thin. He wasn't fat by any means, but in good shape. He was one of those who loved people and you could not help but get very attached very quickly. For some reason he bonded with Bill more than most. It was almost like he wanted to be your friend. Within a few days after purchasing him, we noticed he didn't seem to feel well. That is not uncommon, because even though they were not being properly cared for, that was still their home and I guess they missed it. But Blaze seemed more sick than depressed. He stopped eating. He would only graze for a few moments, then just stand there. I let him out of his pen, but he would follow me to where I was and just stand by me.

     We put him in the trailer the next day for a trip to our veterinarian Dr. Marlon Hobbs. After a very short exam, Dr. Hobbs informed us Blaze had congestive heart failure and should not even be alive. There was absolutely nothing he could do. I took Blaze and led him into the trai
